Court of Appeals Dismisses Statue Appeal

On Thursday, June 12th, the state Court of Appeals rejected the Columbus Monument Corporation’s request to appeal a lower court’s decision that tossed their attempts to block the removal of the statue.

New York’s highest court announced they would not hear the case. This decision means that the state’s Fourth Appellate Department’s ruling that paved the way for the city to remove the statue will stand.
